The perfect place to slow down…

… Siem Reap. The ideal place to stop for a while. As you may know, we are volunteering in Siem Reap and it is the first time on the trip that we have stopped for a while. After almost 3 months of moving around and not staying put anywhere for more than one week, it has been quite a change to be in one place for the past 6 weeks. And, luckily, Siem Reap is the ideal place to be for a while, and certainly favoured over Phnom Penh. With all sorts of dining options it is nice to have a break from the local fare (as good as it is, it does get boring eating the same thing every day – just like it would if we are the same thing at home) as well as make the most of the cheap as chips cocktails.

Not only is Siem Reap doing my waistline no favours and encouraging me to spend my days lazing and enjoying the opportunity to do nothing, but it has cemented some wonderful friendships and some of the best weeks of my life!

Siem Reap has become a home away from home and definitely a place worth relaxing in.
